The BIG ART project successfully organized the International AR/VR Student Competition, which took place in Athens over five intensive and creative days. The event brought together VET students from Greece, Albania and Israel, who collaborated in international teams to develop and present innovative projects based on Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Digital Twin technologies.
The competition was designed to promote work-based learning and project-based collaboration, enabling students to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired during the BIG ART training activities. Throughout the bootcamp, the participating teams worked closely with mentors and experts to refine their project concepts and prepare their final presentations.
On the first day, the international evaluation committee met to define and align on the official evaluation criteria for the competition. During the following days, the student teams received mentoring and technical guidance from AR/VR expert Stratos Lamprinos, supporting them in the further development and improvement of their projects.
During Days 3 and 4, the teams presented their work-based learning AR/VR projects, demonstrating creativity, technical skills and innovative approaches to the use of immersive technologies in real-life professional contexts.
The event concluded on Day 5 with the announcement and awarding of the winning teams, while certificates of participation were awarded to all students who took part in the competition.
