National Bootcamps for VET Students
The BIG ART national bootcamps were successfully completed in Greece, Albania and Israel, giving VET students the opportunity to present and evaluate AR/VR-based virtual tour projects developed through project-based learning and Matterport technology.
From national projects to international competition
As part of Work Package 4, student teams in the three participating countries presented virtual tour projects developed through project-based learning. In each country, the projects were evaluated according to the officially approved BIG ART assessment framework, and the highest-ranked teams were selected to advance to the international phase in Athens.
Three countries, one shared methodology
Each bootcamp adapted to its national context while applying the common BIG ART evaluation and project-based learning approach.
Greece – National Bootcamp
Five student teams presented virtual tour projects developed in collaboration with local companies and production units. The projects demonstrated the practical use of digital twin technologies in industrial and infrastructure environments.
Albania – National Bootcamp
Fifteen students participated in an intensive practical training process focused on 3D scanning, Matterport technology and the creation of digital promotional and educational materials.
The bootcamp concluded with a hackathon-style competition and formal jury evaluation. The selected teams demonstrated strong technical skills and explored applications for tourism, cultural heritage and industrial documentation.
Israel – National Bootcamp
Nine student teams presented projects covering a range of vocational and technical disciplines. The evaluation process was completed successfully and the highest-ranked projects were selected to represent Israel at the international competition.

Next Stop: Athens
The selected national projects advanced to the BIG ART International Bootcamp and Competition in Athens, 9–13 March 2026, bringing together students and educators from Greece, Albania and Israel for the final international phase.
An Important BIG ART Milestone
The national bootcamps demonstrated the successful implementation of AR/VR-based vocational learning, strong engagement from students and teachers, and the value of collaboration between VET institutions and external partners. They also transformed the skills developed during the pilot phase into visible, assessable and internationally shared student projects.
